Senior Air Quality Consultant

As a small consultancy the successful candidates will be involved in all aspects of our work and have the opportunity to work on an exciting variety of air quality and odour projects across a range of sectors. As a multidisciplinary consultancy you will also be exposed to information regarding the wider business.

AAC have access to a variety of information systems and data sources as well as the most sophisticated noise propagation software data tools.

You will be part of a friendly, supportive working environment and we will provide mentoring, support and guidance for you and your development on a one-to-one basis.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Leading in preparing Fee Proposals, managing noise and vibration projects.
  • Manage the technical delivery of assessments and projects, ensuing the consistency and quality of the work and the financial management.
  • Representing AAC at project team meetings and with other stakeholder meetings.
  • Overseeing the planning of projects, assessments and monitoring surveys.
  • Undertaking and leading data analysis, calculations and predictions (Including dispersion modelling) and knowledge of GIS to compile figures.
  • Writing detailed reports including preparing figures and presenting data.
  • Leading in project administration using and ensuring consistency with company standards.
  • Manage, mentor and develop team members.
  • Playing a critical role in the development of the services, policies and procedures.
  • Leading in the recruitment, training and development of junior staff.

Skills and experience Essential

  • Dynamic with strong interpersonal skills, good organisation and problem-solving skills and an attention to detail.
  • Able to draw on common sense to solve problems effectively but also efficiently.
  • Good oral and writing communication skills, (strong knowledge of Microsoft Word), ability to review and maintain quality standards.
  • The position will not only require the undertaking of assessments but also the training of other staff on all aspects of our work including project management, monitoring, assessment (including data processing and modelling) and the writing of reports.
  • A full UK driving license, as some travel will be required and the ability to undertake site-based field work including outside of normal working hours.
  • Membership of the Institute of Air Quality Management.

Desirable:

  • 4 – 8 years relevant experience (depending upon experience)
  • Relevant A-Levels or equivalent
  • BSc or MSc in air quality, chemistry or a science discipline
  • Expert witness experience
  • Holding a CSCS card.

AAC would consider other candidates who may not have a university background if they can demonstrate a strong background and ability and some of the other key attributes required.
